Florida tries to enforce a law that makes it illegally a crime for people in the United States to enter the state

Miami (AP) – Florida's Attorney General asked the federal courts on Wednesday to enforce the authorities a new state law for creation It is illegal for people in the USA to enter Florida by escaping immigration officers.

Attorney General James Uthmeier In addition, the US district judge Kathleen Williams in Miami asked to stop her injunction against the enforcement of the law, while the command is appealed to the 11th Court of Appeal in Atlanta.

“This law does nothing more than to exercise the inherent sovereign authority of Florida to protect its citizens by supporting the enforcement of the Federal Immigration Act,” said Uthmeier in the court report on Wednesday.

The judge's order on Tuesday found that there was a significant probability that the law of Florida would be perceived as unconstitutional.

In her judgment on Tuesday, the judge specified that, despite a recent letter from Uthmeier, her order applies to all local law enforcement authorities in the state. The judge also determined a hearing in May to determine whether Uthmeier should be despised to send the letter to the law enforcement authorities in Florida.

“The accused must be willing to discuss why sanctions should not be imposed on AG Uthmeier's failure to comply with a judicial order,” the judge wrote.

The judge issued a 14-day temporary entry-level saving on April 4, shortly after the lawsuit that the law questioned was submitted by the Florida Immigrant Coalition and other groups with the support of the American Civil Liberties Union. Williams extended the order by another 11 days after learning the Florida Highway Patrol more than a dozen people. including a US citizen.

After Williams issued their extension on April 18, Uthmeier sent a memo to state and local law enforcement officers who asked them not to enforce the law, although he disagreed with the injunction. But five days later he sent another memo in which he said that the judge was legally wrong and that he could not prevent local police officers and MPs.

Uthmeier said on Wednesday at the request of the state to put the order of the judge on the way that the General Prosecutor's Office in Florida would probably be successful in order to defend the law because the plaintiffs had no position and that the state law matched federal laws.

The lawsuit claims that the new law violates the domestic clause of the US constitution by intervening in federal tasks.

“Politicians in Florida tried to transform fear into politics and made it a crime to simply exist as immigrants in this state,” said Bacardi Jackson, Managing Director of ACLU from Florida. “The court rightly reminded her: Implementation of immigration is a task for the federal government, no political weapon for states that you can use.”
