The saint's decision to remove Louisville's quarterback Tyler Shough Last weekend in the light of Carr's injury update, especially with the information that the team is fully aware of his shoulder injury. New Orleans believes that according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL network, Shough was the most profound QB in the design, which was possibly a particularly strong motivator who was the potential for Carr to miss the time this year.

General manager Mickey Loomis Said that there would be a “competition” if he was asked about Shough's role, but indicated that Carr would remain the starter if it is healthy. If he starts in the year, Shough could take over the management as a starter and make it difficult for the saint to return to Carr as soon as he is ready to return. Therefore, Carr could prefer to rehabilitate his shoulder and try to play as soon as possible. If not, he could find out from a job.
