The 43-year-old Princess Kate also shares the hobby outdoors with her sister-in-law Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, showed beekeeping in the first episode of her Netflix series, With love, Meghan, what was premiered on March 4.

Meghan described the process as a “little memory of something that she scares a little. I think that's part of it, but I try to stay calm. Because it is nice to be so connected.

Kate's brother James said on Instagram in 2019 that working with bees helps him practice mindfulness.

“Beekeeping is a meditation for me. It is an opportunity to escape the mind and to be consumed by something that passes for hours without knowing it. Meditation is a wonderful tool to help with stress, fear, depression and not only have to be practiced if you sit down!” he wrote.

The hobby also broadcasts another generation of the royal family. Queen Camilla has beehives in her house in Lacock, Wiltshire, and since 2020 as President of bees for development, a charity that promotes sustainable beekeeping in developing countries.
