The French pedophile surgeon says that it is “responsible” for the death of two victims

Joel Le Scouarnec, a former surgeon in France, who admitted, had sexually abused hundreds of patients, mostly under old age, said he was “that he was” responsible “for the death of two of his victims.

In March, while a session was held behind closed doors, Le Scouarnec – once a respected small town surgeon – admitted to having sexually abused all 299 victims, while they were under anesthesia between 1989 and 2014 or woke up after operations. More than 250 of them were under the age of 15.

His lawyer Maxime Tessier said that he asked Le Scouarnec whether he admits that the numerous people mentioned in his diaries “” all potential victims of his actions and he said: “Yes”.

At the beginning of the trial, Le Scouarnec also informed the court that he had “committed loyal acts” and “the suffering that many of his patients caused”, “understood and shared”.

Thanks to meticulously compiled diaries, the police were able to identify hundreds of victims, in which the attacks by Le Scouarnec, which he carried out in graphic details.

Many did not remember the abuse they are said to have received and had to be announced by the police that their names appeared in Le Scouarneec's diaries.

Since hundreds of hours in the course of the process, Le Scouarnec has been face to face with dozens of his victims and their relatives.

Many of them became emotionally as they described the abuse they had endured their lives; Some said they had eating disorders, anxiety, depression or addiction.

“You came into my head, it destroyed me, I became a completely different person I can no longer recognize,” said Le Monde, a victim.

One of the few victims who had memories of the abuse suffered by Le Scouarnec said she was relieved when the police contacted her to say that her name appeared in the diaries of the former surgeon.

“I've been waiting for her call for 30 years,” she said according to Le Monde.

The newspaper also told the story of another victim that does not remember the abuse, but said that it was still “convinced” that it was raped. “I wanted to die without knowing why. He stole my youth,” she told the court.

During the entire process, Le Scouarnec apologized to his victims and often recognized that his actions were “resistance”.

Romanes of Codou, a lawyer who represented several victims, told the French media that his feelings of guilt “appeased” the victims and “allowed them to close the door to a terrible debate in which we were delivered to Joel Le Scouarnec”.

A section of the experiment was devoted to the cross -interpretation by medical specialists who worked in the same facilities as Le Scouarneec.

The lawyers of the victims and child protection groups have declared that “institutional failure” made it possible for the surgeon to continue working after an FBI warning that was published in the early 2000s – the French authorities that Le Scouarnec had accessed websites of child abuse.

The national order of the doctors (CNOM), who also filed a lawsuit against Le Scouranec, said in March that she had “expressed his deep regret” because it should “be prevented from practicing”.

“This situation has emphasized poor communication between the different units of the orders of the doctors, and we deeply regret it,” they said in a statement.

Although many victims were the greatest procedure for child abuse in French history, many victims have the opinion that the procedure in France has attracted relatively little attention.

The victims of the Joel Le Scouarnec Collective Group said that it was “stunned” to see how the process did not attract politicians and society as a whole.

“From this, neither a lesson was drawn from the medical world nor by politicians,” said the group in an explanation.

Le Scouarnec is already in prison after he was convicted of 15 years in December 2020 for rape and sexually attacked children, including two of his nieces. Now he faces an additional 20-year prison sentence.

A judgment is expected on May 28th.
