Trump's Tech consultant in question contradicts the Romanian election to US graduate

Rights Tech mogul, which are part of the White House of President Donald Trump, have doubts about the state of democracy in Romania and hires them with the main diplomat of the country in the country.

In large parts of Europe, the reaction to the Romanian presidential elections on Sunday was a sigh of relief. The winner, Nicusor Dan, is a centerister who supports Ukraine, and his victory has closed the door about what the Romanian authorities say, a coup supported by Russia.

Dan's defeat against George Simion, the 38-year-old leader of the hard right alliance for the unity of Romanians or Aur, was something completely different. Two of them, Elon Musk and David Sacks, who are both consultants from Trump, expressed dissatisfaction with the state of Romanian democracy.

Sacks, a wealthy investor, condemned the result on Monday in a position on X as “statistically unlikely, if not impossible”. The explanation was an accusation of fraud, although sacks did not provide any evidence, and he criticized the Romanian authorities for the disqualification of a leading Pro-Russia candidate, Calin Georgescu. Simion, the losing candidate, had already given a defeat when sacks were posted.

Sacks, who was referred to by Trump by Trump by Trump for artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency in December, did not make the comments on his personal report on X, where he has 1.3 million followers, not in his government account.

Musk weighed separately. On X he strengthened an accusation of the head of the Messaging app Telegram, Pavel Durov, who said that the French government had asked him to ban conservative voices in Romania from the telegram. Durov, who has citizenship for French and United Arab Emirates, said he had refused. The French Foreign Ministry ever denied such a request.

Durov, born in Russia, is involved in a legal dispute in France. Last year, the French public prosecutor accused him of enabling various forms of crime in the telegram. Durov returned to Dubai in March, but said he met the French authorities this spring in Paris.

“Wow,” wrote Musk and shared Durov's allegations with his own 219 million followers. Musk reacted to another Durov post in which Romanian democracy was endangered, and wrote: “Listen, hear!”

The White House did not answer a request for a comment on the statements of Musk and Sacks, two of the best -known technology numbers in Trump management. Neither Muschus nor sacks answered on inquiries about comments by e -mail.

The US message in Romania released on Sunday that she had sent several teams to observe the vote. On Tuesday, the preliminary US leader of the Romanian Mission, Michael L. Dickerson, recorded a lucky schnot on the chosen Romanian president on X.

“We look forward to working with you as the new president and the government of Romania to advance our common priorities such as defense, energy and commercial partnerships,” wrote Dickerson and marks Dan.

Dickerson was appointed to the preliminary diplomatic mail on Tuesday when the message announced the resignation of the US Ambassador in Romania Kathleen Kavalec on Facebook. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not immediately answer a request for comments.

In recent history, it is unusual that advisors to the White House comment on foreign policy subjects individually, unless their task is specific to national security, but in particular Musk is far from previous practice. Georgescu won the first round of the presidential elections in Romania in 2024, but the country's highest court attracted the result in December, two days before the final set of expiry, that Moscow had intervened by a Tikokau campaign. Moscow contested the interference, but on Monday Kremlin criticized the election of Romania as “strange”.

Both Sacks and Musk had previously expressed support for Georgescu, the Pro-Russia candidate, who had remained on the ballot. Musk called the decision to “crazy” him while Sacks said that she was the death of democracy. Vice President JD Vance has expressed similar views and said that the evidence against Georgescu was “threadsome”, although he did not comment on the results of the election.
