According to the Mexican Navy, the ship pilot came from New York in the deadly Bridge crash | new York

The Mexican Navy said that the pilot who navigated the training ship Cuauhtémoc during his crash on Saturday evening into Brooklyn Bridge, in New York.

“The ship must be checked by a specialized port pilot from the New York government,” said Admiral Raymundo Pedro Morales Angeles at a press conference.

Morales Angeles admitted that the pilot didn't have much time to react to the situation, possibly only 80 to 90 seconds.

Two soldiers from the Mexican Navy were killed and 22 others were injured during the incident, which collapsed all three masts of the ship. The event was recorded on video by spectators and quickly spread on social media.

The dead were identified as América Sánchez (20) from Veracruz and Adal Jair Maldonado Marcos (23) from Oaxaca. In interviews with Mexico News Daily, the family members talked about Sanchez 'efforts to become a naval engineer, and Maldonado's boring dream to follow his father's path as a sailor.

The ship, which had 277 people on board, was in the middle of a 254-day global goodwill tour, starting with a departure from April 6 from ACAPULCO on the Mexican Pacific coast and spent five days in New York City.

The New York police said the ship lost power when it left the port for Iceland and was sucked by the current towards the bridge. The ship with 48 m (48 m) could not fit in the clearing of the Brooklyn bridge at 134.5 feet (41 m).

A member of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was unclear about how the police recognized the ship, but said that there was no structural integrity concerns in connection with the Brooklyn Bridge itself.

The spectators reported that the crew members hang masts and bars from the ships and were waiting for rescue at the same time.

A complete examination of the ship waste is treated by the NTSB. A preliminary report is expected to be issued in less than 30 days, but the complete examination will probably take over a year.
