The leaders of Baltimore gather in order to address juvenile criminal civil servants

A town hall meeting takes place in Baltimore City today and focuses on the urgent problem of youth crime.

The event is organized by state lawyer Ivan J. Bates and will contain a committee of important community leader.

The meeting aims to cope with the challenges and solutions in connection with youth crime in the city and bring together various stakeholders in order to work together on effective strategies.

According to the public prosecutor's office of the city state, 84% of young people who were involved in “special cases” or more serious crimes were returned to the municipality in 2024. In 2024, until May 13th, there were 417 youth fees. In 2023 this number was 196.

By May 13, 2025, 396 youth fees were given.

When it comes to the “specials”, which contains fees such as motor vehicle theft, armed robbery and attack of the first degree. In 2024, DJs recommended the detention for 31 out of 130 special cases and the dishes 21.
