NTSB releases cause for 2023 Greyhound crash in Metro Ost

St. Louis, Mo (first alarm 4) – The National Transportation Safety Board has determined the cause of a wind accident with the greyhound.

On July 12, 2023, a greyhound bus drove from the street in a western direction I-70 Silver Lake Raststation from the street and collided with several dead ends that were parked along the shoulder. A total of 14 people were injured and three died.

On Tuesday, the investigators said that the crash was caused by the bus driver, who rejected the street due to fatigue. They showed that the driver had an irregular work rest plan and was awake over a longer period of time.

The report states that Greyhound Lines, Inc. contributed because “she did not reduce the recurring uncertain driving behavior of the Motorcoach driver”.

According to investigators, there was another contribution factor that three semi -drinks along the shoulder of the output ramp were parked due to a lack of parking facilities. In Illinois it is illegal to park on the Highway shoulder overnight, but in other states, including Missouri, it is legal.

The investigators also said that bus passengers who do not wear seat belts contributed to the severity of the injuries suffered by passengers.

In response to this, the National Transportation Safety Board gave security recommendations to six companies, including the US Transport Ministry and the bus lines of the Greyhound.
