Mother of the teenager who were killed in the Pioneer Square speaks out

On Saturday, Christina Rivas lost her daughter at a shootout on the Pioneer Square. Her daughter was one of three people who were killed in the shootout, with a fourth person fighting for her life in the hospital.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Seattle police were still looking for the person behind this shootout.

Fox 13 sat down with Rivas and her pain cut so deep that it is almost unbearable to talk about what happened.

“I just want to hug her and tell her that I love her and I'm sorry, I wish I could have saved her,” said Rivas.

The last time she saw her daughter Keilani Harris, was on Thursday evening before she was ready to go out with her friends. She hugged her and kissed her and told her to be safe.

“I only wish I had given her a closer hug, a deeper 'I love you', if I knew it, I repeatedly repeat it in my thoughts,” said Rivas.

The 19-year-old was family-oriented, a sunbeam and funny, said Rivas.

“She had a really contagious laugh, you could hear a mile laughed away, she just loved lifting the room up and had a very funny personality,” said Rivas.

She told Fox 13 and knew that the person who stole the light of her daughter was still out there if she wanted to hand over.

“I pray that the gentleman brings something into your heart to get forward because it is not right, so many life are broken for this reason, my beautiful little girl, she was so excited for life,” said Rivas.

At the moment she finds strength in prayer.

“I think I will see my baby again one day and I will see her, I hope the rest of my years fly over so quickly so that I can see it again,” said Rivas.

She adds, she knows that she is not the only family that is currently injured, and also sends prayers to these families. Since then you have started a gofundme.
