Mount Prospect Man, which was killed at Deer Park, identified

A 71-year-old man from Mount Prospect died on Sunday after an accident with two vehicles in Deer Park, said Lake County.

What we know:

The crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. near the crossing of the Lake Cook Road and the remote Road in the Deer Park. The MPs arrived to find two vehicles with serious damage and critically injured both drivers.

One of the drivers identified as Robert Clauss was brought to the Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, where he was declared dead in the emergency room.

The Lake County Coroner office carried out an autopsy on Monday. Preliminary findings show that Clauss died of blunt violent violations caused by the crash.

What we don't know:

The sheriff's office has not led to any additional details about the second driver or that may be crashed.

The crash is examined by the Lake County Sheriff's Technical Crash Investigations Team.
