LPD: Viral video missing context

May 20 – Lima – a viral video that was published on Facebook at the weekend and claims that an official of the Lima police department threatened that a group of women lacks a context, according to the police department of Lima.

Detective Sgt. Steve Stechshulte informed the Lima News that the civil servant shown in the video had tried to find a suspect who was searched for at a recent shootout on South Main Street.

Stechshulte said that the official tried to warn the women presented in the video

The 16-second video clip published on Saturday shows an officer who slowly drives past a group of women. The officer can be heard: “Your house will be shot.”

A woman replies: “You're going, boy. Bye!” Seconds later, the woman says: “It's okay, I recorded it. Badge 83.”

The video brought 80,000 views.

Stechshulte said the department would open an investigation of the incident as soon as a formal complaint has been submitted according to the standard procedure.
