Las Cruces, NM-ES provides new information about a shootout with a police officer from Las Cruces, which leads to the death of 18-year-old Josiah Perrault.

This happened in early May on the other side of the street of the Lynn Middle School.

An officer saw a confrontation between two teenagers who went and another group of teenagers in a white sedan. They supposedly had weapons in the car.

According to witnesses, the groups separated, but later met again. Perrault leaves the car and begins to follow the two with a weapon in their hands.

“One of the subjects that were persecuted was hit by shots that were assumed by Mr. Perrault. The official intervened and replaced their service weapon, and Mr. Perrault was hit by shots at least once.”

Perrault was declared dead at the crime scene. The other teenager was injured and brought to a local hospital with non -life -threatening injuries.

This is still an ongoing examination.
