The law of New Tennessee is liable for charity organizations for migrants who are still having a crime

There is a new Tennessee Act that is liable to non-profit organizations when immigrants help and help immigrants to commit crimes.

As early as March, FOX 17 news for the first time pointed out local concerns about homeless accommodation that believed that they should not be punished to temporarily get people off the streets.

Homeless people with whom we spoke we spoke were shocked to be admitted as part of the legislation in order to cause charity organizations for crimes of migrants, but a change was added after the execution of our history.

The change makes it clear that legislation only applies to non -profit organizations and offers long -term apartments for undocumented immigrants, and it does not apply to accommodations overnight.

In the entire voluntary state, non -profit organizations are now responsible for the fact that migrants who ultimately commit a crime will knowingly offer housing construction in the long term.

Representative Rusty Grills is the co-sponsor of the law that governor Bill Lee signed in early May.

“I mean people may have the best intentions, but if you are here, if someone is illegal here, it is the responsibility of the state to remove to work with ice,” he said.

He added that it was for public security and the residents of Tennessee have to follow the law.

“We only make sure that non -profit organizations do not sign rental contracts for illegals so that they remain illegally in this country, live in the shadow of law and help them avoid the law,” he said.

Initially, the language of the legislation read that all charity organizations for crimes by migrants would be held accountable.

That triggered outrage.

Grills told Fox 17 News that he would add a change during our first interview.

However, the law applies to some places that help domestic violence, and the churches are still on the hook.

Scott Huie is the pastor of the Bellevue Presbyterian Church.

“I am disappointed that the law was passed. The church always had a special place for those who are suppressed.”

The new law would also be used for the non-profit coalition of Tennessee Migrant and Refugees who supported migrants during the THP ICE company in the Nashville region.

In addition, Open Table Nashville would fall under the criteria of the new law. It is a non -profit organization that connects people with homelessness with long -term living space.

The new law enables the victims of migrant crime to sue non -conforming NGOs for damage.

“We are, we are a nation of laws. We are a state of law and we want to make sure that people here in Tennessee are protected by the law,” said Grills.

Huie has conflict whether he would comply with or not.

“I would have to think about how I would lean myself, but I would tend to obey God's law, not that of man,” he said.

We asked him what he meant by God's law.

“I think we should help people in need,” he replied. “At the same time, I want to be a good legal citizen.”

Representative Grills told Fox 17 News that his district greet immigrants in Tennessee as long as they live here and work here.
