Relatives remember the 29-year-old, who was killed in the Merced in the event of alleged DUI crash

Merced, California (KFSN) – It was about two and a half weeks since family, friends and students of the 29-year-old Regino (directed) Mariscal last saw him before his life was tragically broken off.

“He was always the role model for students, he always took care of it, he always listened and checked himself towards people when everyone was doing well,” said Andre Griggs, CEO and founder of the restorative Justice League (RJL).

Candles, flowers and a cross lay on the corner of the Olive Avenue and the G Street in Merced, where directing was killed in a suspected dui crash.

“It's very sad,” said Griggs through tears. “It still hurts when we lost a great young man at such an early age.”

On Tuesday, his loved ones came together for a vigil in candlelight in suitable shirts to tell stories about his life.

“He just smiled and said every day that they are strong, they have it,” said an employee of Tenaya Middle School.

Directed work for the restorative Justice League on the Tenaya Middle School, created a safe space for students and always looked for them.

“The last words of him looked for a student to solve a problem to make sure the student made it safely home. That was a director,” recalled an employee of the Tenaya Middle School.

Some of his students emotionally when they remembered its effect.

“I really admired him for this: I treat everyone at the same time and I am only very caring,” said Leilani, one of the Regies students.

RJL now sells these suitable shirts from the vigil.

The proceeds will go to a scholarship in his name to continue his legacy to help students continue.

The suspect Gomez was arrested and charged with a gross vehicle, while he was intoxicated and drove under the influence of injuries.

According to the public records of the Sheriff of the Merced County, she will be in court on Wednesday.
