How the Knicks make it to the NBA final

The last time Knicks won a championship was 1973. The last time they even made it to the final was in 1999. But honestly, this appearance shouldn't count. '99 was a lockout season-es for the first time that the NBA ever lost games through a dispute (and in the year in which the blocked stars of the league played a pay-per-view exhibition game that most of them were known to take place)-and only 50 games of the regular season took place. And the 199 Knicks team wasn't even that good. It was 27-23 and went to the playoffs as No. 8 seeds, the heavy outsider against No. 1-Sami Miami Heat. The Knicks made a shocking surprise and won the decisive game five (at that time there were only five games in the first round) with the Super Gross score of 78-77 and surprisingly found their way to the final, where they were dried by the far superior San Antonio Spurs in five games. The Knicks were actually better the next season when they lost in the Eastern Conference final – the last time they made it so far this year. But trust someone who was there: Nobody thought you had the chance to win a title in one of these seasons, for good reason.

The only time has made New York to a final since '73 in 1994. The Series that you should have won so you can ask the poor John Starks about it if you see him the next time Timothée Chalamet Courtsides. Otherwise, the Knicks have never had a better opportunity in most years to win an NBA title than now. Her final series of the Eastern Conference taps the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday evening in Madison Square Garden, the team that defeated the Knicks in the Playoffs 2000 and – Oh yes – last year.

I am firmly convinced that there is currently no greater story in sport than “Will the Knicks make the NBA final?” So can you do it?

I think you can. So do it:

At first it looked like the Knicks were going to a series victory against Indiana last year in the playoffs. They made an exciting game and drove to a player victory when OG tried to end a temporary break, to secure his knee tendon with pain. He turned out that he had a strongly tense Hammy. The newly acquired anunoby had been an absolute terror up to this point, and his injury took away the main advantage of the Knicks and eliminated her depth. This was a team that Alec Burks, Daquan Jeffries and Mamadi played Diakite in game 6. The Knicks won the second game, but lost four of the next five. (Anunoby returned in game seven, but was too injured to make a big difference.) The Knicks are thinner than last year, but they have more high-end talent: the easiest way for you to beat the Tom Thibodeau style this time and keep your start on the floor on the floor as long as possible. There is no room for mistakes. A similar injury that resembles Anunoby last year would probably make it fail to the same fate.

Karl-Anthony Towns will make an all-NBA team this year. It was an invaluable, essential addition that a kind of transcendent, missing offensive talent that the Knicks has been looking for for years. He was also the second best center of the Knicks in their semi -finals of the Eastern Conference against the Celtics. Mitchell Robinson, the longest kink, was a defensive monster against Boston, while Kat … Well, he was a little listlessly, with a defensive failure here or there, but also able to be his best, as in the game-Six clincher. (Although all Played great in this game.) Kat is a polarizing figure in the NBA: Is he one of the best big men of all time or is he a bad sieve in defense with bad problems that you hurt more in the playoffs than he helps you? Kat can silence any doubter whom he had in his career in the next two to three weeks. If he doesn't do this, he may never hear the end of it.

It is enough to say that the garden will be pretty crazy this series; It can occur in flames when New York progresses. Despite the rough atmosphere of MSG, the Knicks at home have been only 3-3 in these playoffs. (Chalamet has to scream a little louder, I think.) The main advantage of the Pacers is its depth, and the longer this series is more important. The Thin Knicks want a shorter series, and the best way to win a shorter series is to take the first two games at home and to exert the Pacers maximum pressure. New York won the first two games against Indiana last year and still lost the series. Nevertheless, this is the clearest way to victory.

Jalen Brunson is already a top-five all the time, right? He is the ninth ever in playoff points, although he only plays 36 playoff games as a kink. It will survive Allan Houston (60) to game three. He brought New York further than Carmelo Anthony ever. He was just winning the NBA Clutch Player of the Year Award. In view of the parts of the Yankees methods and jets giants, he may have been the most popular NYC athlete in the past 25 years. But while he has many fantastic moments, many from last week, he still has no unique moment – his “Willis Reed comes out of the tunnel”, the game that runs on a loop when he does the Hall of Fame. This series seems to be uniquely designed in such a way that it delivered you.

I once interviewed Spike Lee for this magazine and asked him when he thought the garden was the craziest. “Jeremy Lin,” he said. “It was as loud as I ever saw it.” Lee may be in Cannes, but what he said to our Rachel handler is right: “It is an uprising in New York City.” The Knicks have built up the entire Leon Rose era, but that is what the Knicks and the city have been waiting for over three decades.
