England suffers a major injury in the Odi series of the West Indies when Star Pacer Jofra Archer excluded

The English Fast Bowler Jofra Archer was excluded from the upcoming Odi series of three games against the West Indian Islands due to a right thumb injury. The cricket board (ECB) was confirmed on Tuesday, May 21st. The setback is another frustrating development for the 30-year-old Pacer, who has fought against a number of injuries in recent years. Archer was also not part of the English squad for the unique test against Zimbabwe, which was announced at the beginning of this month.

“The English men's and Sussex -Tempo -Bowler Jofra Archer was excluded from the Metro Bank Odi series against the West Indian Islands due to a right thumb injury,” said the ECB in an official explanation. “He will be re -evaluated by the English medical team in the next four weeks to determine when he can return to the action.”

In order to cover the absence of Archer, the ECB described 29-year-old Lancashire Seamer Luke Wood as a replacement in the squad. Wood, who has impressed only limited possibilities with its pace and versatility, will take this chance of domestic soil.

Wood most recently saw Super League for his franchise, Peshawar Zalmi with 11 gates in eight innerings.

In the meantime, Archer is re -evaluated by the English medical team to determine when he could return to the plot.

England's first game against the West Indian Islands is planned for May 29 in Edgbaston.

Harry Brook (C), Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Jos Buttler, Brydon Care, Ben Duckett, Tom Hartley, Will Jacks, Saqib Mahmood, Jamie Overton, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Luke Wood.
