The video shows the arrest of the public prosecutor because of alleged DUI

Waterbury, Vt. (WCAX) – The police have published a video in which the moments were arrested by a prosecutor in Vermont County by soldiers because of a suspected DUI.

WCAX News received a body camera worth several hours, Cruiser camera and keeping cell videos via a public recording request.

There is more than a year after the lawyer of Addison County State Eva Vekos was arrested under the influence on suspicion of driving.

“I'm not doing any tests,” says Vekos in the video.

Last January, she reacted in Bridport to the scene of a suspicious death, where the officials said they could smell alcohol in her person and claimed that she had met her words.

The video shows how Vekos gets out of her car and refuses to carry out standard soberness tests. It is then placed in handcuffs and brought to the barracks of the state police in New Haven. Vekos was placed in a holding cell and finally by SGT. Eden Near for processing. There she can hear the soldiers tell that she does not answer any questions.

Eva Vekos, Addison County's prosecutor, will not agree with photos, no photos. My face will not go out into the paper.

Vt. State Police Sgt. Eden Neary: This is again nothing that I will decide. As a department, we do not play a discretion with Dui as a department.

Eva Vekos: There was no Dui. There was alcohol on the breath and alleged blurry speech.

Sgt. Eden Neary: Ok, which are enough indicators to apply for a proven test that they know as the state's lawyer.

Vekos has not guilty to have driven under the influence. A test date has not yet been determined.

Our cam Smith is still working throughout the video and he will have a full report for you in the News Channel 3 News this evening at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
