Phil Foden: Man City Midfielder says that it is about problems and injuries outside the field

City had a bad campaign that the Premier League trophy gave up, which Champions League left over the past 16 years and was anesthetized in the FA Cup final of Crystal Palace.

You end the season with a trip to Fulham on Sunday (kick-off 16:00 BS) and know that a point for the next season should win a Champions League place.

But City has a short turn this summer because they will take part in the extended World Cup that begins on June 14th in the USA.

“It is obviously difficult because the boys from this season are mentally drained,” said Foden. “I think everyone needs the right time to relax to return to the next season.

“Obviously there will be this competition, the appearance. It will be fun, some clubs will take it more seriously than others, but I know the city and the club we are. We will definitely take it seriously.”

Previously, manager Thomas Tuchel called his English squad on Friday for the World Cup qualification in Andorra on June 7th and three days later against Senegal in Wembley.

When asked whether he has to rest his ankle, Foden said: “Obviously, it is a difficult situation for me with the caps around the corner.

“It is something we have to speak to the club and the national team to see if it is better to rest and get my ankle back 100% as I want.

“I just don't know at the moment. It's a conversation and we'll see what happens.”
