Nate oats return to the NBA again to round off his coaching staff in Alabama

In the third low season, Nate Oats added a trainer to his employees from the NBA ranks.

Alabama had an opening for a full-time co-coach after Ryan Pannone accepted the head coach job in the state of Arkansas. Pannone himself joined the NBA of the Crimson Tide and was time as head coach of the G-League for the New Orleans Pelicans.

According to reports, Oats rounded off his employees by hiring the veteran -NBA assistant Chris Fleming.

This will be Fleming's first coaching stay in College basketball. He became an assistant coach in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets in 2015 and has been in the league ever since. He did with the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls and most recently the Portland Trail Blazers. FLEMING was the top assistant of Billy Donovan with the Bulls in 2019-2020 and spent five games as an interim coach when Donovan went through Covid protocols. The bulls went 5-0 in this stay.

Fleming spent many years as head coach in the German Bundesliga. He won the league from 2010 to 2013 with Brose Baskets four in a row. He also led her to the German Cup four times and three times to the German Supercup. He was the Bundesliga coach of the year in 2011.

His success as head coach in the German Pro Liga led him to take over the head coach of the German national team from 2014 to 2017.

Nate Hafer continues to prioritize player development with his assistants

At first glance, it may seem strange to set a man with zero relationships with College basketball or recruitment. But oats have consistently prioritized player development with its latest attitudes. That led him to the NBA in the last settings cycles.

And why not? He has his ACE recruiter in Preston Murphy, his main assistant. He now has two veterans -NBA assistants next to him and Murphy with Fleming to Brian Adams.

Adams came to Alabama last season after spending a year as a co -coach for the Detroit Pistons. Previously, he worked the employees of the Philadelphia 76ers.

OATS leads an NBA system, so it makes sense to fill your coaching team with men with a lot of NBA experience.

Hafer has proven to be a kingmaker in college coaching. His coaching tree continues to expand. When Pannone was discontinued by the state of Arkansa, he became the fifth co -trainer under oats who got a head coach and Bryan Hodgson (USF), Antoine Pettway (Kennesaw State), Charlie Henry (Georgia Southern) and Austin Cleunch (UTSA).
