IHSA State Athletics Meeting

The basics: Class 1a prelims will take place on Thursday with preliminaries in class 2a on Friday. The final will take place on Saturday in the O'Brien Stadium of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.

Drive forward: The nine top finishers and all ties for ninth place find in every event for the final on Saturday. The high jump and the pole vault are only executed as the final. TH 800, 1,600 and 4×800 relays have 12 entries in the final.

Here are some of the athletes and events that you can watch in 1a and 2a from the Valley area.

Class 1a

Emma Randecker, West Carrollsr .: Randecker is the defending champion in the 100-meter fitting board. Last year she also took second place in the 200 and fifth in the 400. It has the top time in the 100 (11.73) and 200 (24.22) this season in 1a.

Bree Schneiderman, ForrestonSo.: Schneiderman scored the third best time in 1a this season in the 100 (12.05) and 200 (25.10) in the section meeting. As a newcomer, she ran three events at State, took part in 100, 200 and took ninth place with Forrestons 4×100 season.

Elaina Allen, NewmanSo.: Everyone will search for the medal again in one or two sprint events, since in the 100 (12.30) and 200 (25.59) they posted 10 times in 1a this season. She took the seventh as a newcomer in 100 and 12.

Jillian Hammer, Oregonfr.: Look for hammer in the hurdle events when you scored the fourth best time in the 100 hurdles (15.28) and in the 300 hurdles (46.65) this season in 1a in the 300 hurdles (46.65).

Kylie Smither, Fultonsr .: Smither is the best blow to the start, 11.96 meters, best this season in 1a on the 10th. She was a section champion and won the event at seven of her eight meetings this season. She is looking for her first state medal at the start.
