Pittsburgh Tornado Watch: These cities in Pennsylvania warned – here will meet Twister

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh published a Tornado clock on Wednesday and asked the residents in parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia to prepare EDT for potential tornados by 8:00 p.m. The clock, the eight districts of Pennsylvania, two counties in Ohio and eight counties in West Virginia, underlines a storm threat with the possibility of Twisters, harmful winds and hail that affects large cities such as Pittsburgh, Greensburg and Uniontown.

Affected Pennsylvania cities and counties

The Tornado Watch includes the counties Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Washington and West Moreland in Pennsylvania and sets several important cities on alarm.

The Aliquippa, Ambridge, Beaver Falls, Butler, Canonsburg, Conillersburg, Ellwood City, Greensburg, LatroBe, Masontown, Monaca, Murrysville, Neucastle, New Kensington, Pittsburgh Area, Uniontown, Washington and Waynesburg as Risk.

These communities are exposed to potential tornados, with the Pittsburgh Metro Area, a large urban center, under special examination due to their dense population. According to the NWS, the watch warns of flying rubble, damage to roofs, vehicles and trees and the risk of destruction of the mobile home.

When is the tornado hit?

The NWS exhibited the clock at 4:03 p.m. EDT by 8:00 p.m. Edt and shows a four -hour window for storms. Radard data from the NWS Pittsburgh office indicate that storms that can produce tornados can already approach the region 5:00 p.m. EDT, whereby the top activity is expected between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Edt, based on storm movement patterns, which were found in similar regional warnings according to Accuweather.

The residents are asked to monitor the NOAA weather radio or the local news on real-time updates, as tornadoes can quickly form. The NWS emphasized immediate action: “Go to a basement or interior on the bottom floor of a stable building. Avoid windows.”

Beyond Pennsylvania, The Watch Includes Columbiana and Jefferson Counties in Ohio (Affecting Cities Like Columbiana, East Liverpool, Salem, and Steubenville) and Brooke, Hancock, Marion, Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio, Preston, and Wetzel Counties (Covering Fairmont, Follansbee, Kingwood, Morgantown, Moundsville, New Martinsville, Terra Alta, Weimon, Wellsburg and Wheeling).

The NWS advised the residents to seek protection immediately when a tornado warning is issued, which emphasized the danger for this free, in mobile homes or in vehicles. “Find the closest, essential protection and protect yourself from flying ruins,” explains the alarm.

The local authorities in Pittsburgh and Greensburg have opened emergency shelters, and the officials of the district of Allegheny urged the readiness.
