Police persecution ended on Wednesday morning with an accident in the city center of Austin.

The background story:

On Wednesday, May 21st, around 9 a.m., on Lamar BLVD. Fox 7 Dash cam officers who had run over a suspected drunk driver near the 5th Street. A few seconds later the suspect leaves, followed by officials with their sirens.

The persecution ended when the suspect with another car in 7th Street and the Congress Ave. the front of the suspect's car was completely mutilated.

The police identified the suspect driver as Isaak Meredith, 22. He had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The person in the other car was also taken to the hospital with non -life -threatening injuries.

In this case, Meredith is expected to be suspended. APD says you have to carry out a few more tests and interviews before you decide which you should submit.

Court files show that he has pending charges for prohibited weapon and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance. He also had a prison in 2021, in which the public prosecutor received no indictment, and he had pre -judicial distraction.

Local perspective:

Jesse did his job in the Avenue Congress when he saw what had happened.

“You can hear the car coming … I just saw him, boomed, beaten the little Kia. It hit him, I thought he might go on,” he said. “When he tried to get out, an officer ran to this gentleman who had been met, the older man, and the other went to him, so he jumped out to run, and the officer grabs him.”
