Gainesville -Man, who was charged with fentanyl overdose in Habersham County

A man from Gainesville was charged with the death of a 27-year-old Habersham County resident in January Fentanyl overdosing and arrested, the authorities said.

What we know:

The 28 -year -old Corey Cantrell from Gainesville was charged by a Grand jury of Habersham County because of serious involuntary homicide for the sale of fentanyl and owned a controlled substance with the intention. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the indictment was submitted on April 10 on April 10th.

The investigators said the 27 -year -old Sidney Cantrell died on January 19 after taking Fentanyl, which was allegedly received by Corey Cantrell. The two are not related.

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) of the GBI was requested by the Sheriff of the Habersham County's office to examine the alleged overdose. After the investigation, the ARDEO agents arrested with Gainesville Police K-9 units and the Hally Sheriff's Office Handling Department Corey Cantrell on February 12 in his house in Gainesville.

The case is pursued by the district prosecutor's office of the Habersham district.
