Oklahoma State Baseball Tops Baylor Baylor Big 12 tournament openers

Mario Pesca blinded Baylor errors in relief and Oklahoma State to achieve the decisive runs in the 4: 3 victory of the cowboys in the opening round of the Big 12 Baseball tournament on Wednesday at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The cowboys with the seventh seed (28-22) go into the quarter-finals, where they face the second seed on Thursday at 4 p.m. against Kansas (42-14).

Pesca (7-2) achieved the victory with 3 ⅔ shutout inside to facilitate the starter Sean Youngerman. Pesca only allowed two goals, both singles without walks and two strike outs on 49 parking spaces. Youngerman allowed three runs (one deserved) on five goals over 4 ⅓ Innerings.

Gabe Davis scored a perfect ninth place for his third rescue of the season.

The Sophomore Centerfield Kollin Ritchie opened the gate with a solo homerun in the second inning to bring the cowboys 1-0.

Baylor (33-22) scored two in the third and one in the fifth with 3-1.

But the cowboys replied in the sixth when Brayden Smith and Ian Daughherty led the frame with two consecutive singles. Both appeared on Nolan Schul's Long Flyout for the direct midfield from the direct middle.

Smith scored a victim fly by Colin Brueggemann. And thanks to a Wurffehen, Daughherty came in with the binding run through the Baylor Third Baseman on Jayson Jones' Grounder.

An inning later it was Daughtery's Grounder for Shortstop, which led to an error and brought in with the Pinch-Runner Drew CulbertSon start.

The cowboys were swept in the three-game series in Kansas in Kansas at the end of March.
