“Hurry tomorrow” stands out music, fails with the plot

Whitney Houston in “The Bodyguard”. Eminem in “8 miles”. Cher in “Moonstruck”. Musicians who have exchanged the studio in favor of the canvas is nothing new for the industry.

The singer-songwriter and producer The Weeknd blends in the long list of the double threats of the musician actor in “Hande up Tomorrow”. In contrast to many of his predecessors, his first film is below average.

The film marks its feature film debut and was released on May 16 to accompany his latest album of the same name.

The film Abel (The Weeknd), a trendy artist, follows the direction of Trey Edward Shults who stumbles from a devastating separation.

After a concert where Abel was reluctant to appear, he is terribly wrong. The film then turns into a thriller with intensive clashes and confusing pictures.

The worst part is the separate action. In theory, the concept of researching the heights and downs of the music industry is interesting. The way in which “hurry Tomorrow Up” was nonsensical.

In the first few minutes, the plot between Anima is divided, which contain your house due to family problems and abel about his separation.

There is no explanation for why Anima played in this way. The audience only learns that she is an important fan of the week until it drives it to extreme measures.

The film also lacks well -rounded characters. Abel is obviously modeled according to the Weeknd in reality until the two who share the same name. However, the two supportive characters, Anima and Lee (Barry Keoghan), hardly promote the action.

If it had spent more time for the development of the characters instead of concentrating on futuristic graphics, the film might have been more entertaining and easier.

Perhaps a stronger spectacle could have masked the wastes, but unfortunately this was not the case. The performance of Golden Globe nominates Ortega and Keoghan, which is far below the level of his co-stars. His delivery is so melodramatic that even serious scenes were ridiculous.

The only highlight of the film is not surprising his music. The Weeknd often complements music with visuals. Short films accompanied his two albums in front of “Hande up Tomorrow Up”, “Dawn FM” and “After Hours” as well as the short-lived HBO series “The Idol”, in which he was created and played in which he was played.

All along the way, the music in these media was excellent and this film was no exception. In particular, the song “Drive” added so much to the scene in which it was, and the general presentation of the concert atmosphere was one of the higher points.

As a fan of The Weeknd, I'm looking forward to new music. However, if a film accompanies it, I don't think I'm going to the theater.
