Raider's insider detail Christian Wilkins' injury “Break”

After weeks of speculation about the surgically repaired foot of Christian Wilkins, a report finally has some light on what is going on with the 110 million dollar -tackle of the Raiders.

According to Vinny Bonsignor from Las Vegas Review-Journal, Wilkins suffered a setback with his foot and it either depends on a broken screw or a new bone in his foot.

“It essentially comes up with the screw fracture or (in the rare case) he rebrocates the bone,” reported Bonsignor about X. “In both cases, the feeling is that it should be ready by August.”

Wilkins was initially operated on in October 2024 for a Jones fracture, and it was expected to hold a lot of time again for the 2025 season. In most cases, 3-4 months is the approximate schedule for recovery, but Wilkins' setback has obviously reset a little.

In an interview with members of the media on Wednesday afternoon after voluntary workouts, Raiders head coach Pete Carroll said that it was a “challenging process” with Wilkins' foot, but offered no further details.

“He is not ready to get out,” said Carroll. “We are in the middle of a long, challenging process. Fortunately, there is a lot of time.”

In this case, “a lot of time” is a little more than three months before the kick -off of meaningful games.

At least it seems that Wilkins missed part of Otas and it would feel like a victory for everyone involved if he can be close to 100 percent before the start of the regular season.
