METS Avoid Sweep in Boston, Snap Drei-Gaming-skid (highlights)

The New York Mets (30-20) finally broke through on Wednesday evening and defeated the Boston Red Sox (25-26) with 5: 1 in Fenway Park to avoid a sweep and the stripes of its season strips.

Francisco Lindor set the tone early with a leadoff double, although New York's fights with runners in the goal position were initially continued. After brett Baty left several on the base in the first two innings, he delivered a coupling -RBI single in the second to open the rating. Luis Torrens was thrown on the plate and tried to get a second run, but Baty's goal was an urgently needed spark.

The crime grew really alive in the seventh. With the invited bases and without outs, Baty scored again and drove to the left with two runs. Lindor grabbed the pressure after the election of a field player, and Juan Soto followed with a victim fly to increase the lead to 4: 1. Lindor ended the night with a solo home in the ninth, his 10th of the season and the first home run of the Mets in over 200 bats.

Tylor Megill was sharp in his first career start in Boston and excluded 10 over 4.2 innerings and only allowed one run. Huascar Brazoban escaped a base jam in relief and threw 2.1 dominant innings, which lowered his era to 0.90. Reed Garrett and Edwin Díaz closed the door and combined with the rest of the staff to strike out 16 batteries.
