The suspect Elias Rodriguez, 30, from Chicago, went up and down before shooting in front of the museum and then entered the building where the event security held it, said Smith.

When he was taken into custody, the suspect sang “free, free Palestine,” said Smith. She said that the investigators do not believe that there is a continuing threat in the community.

The shootout occurred when Israel started a new large offensive in the middle of his ongoing war with the Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
