President Trump is organizing an exclusive dinner in his Trump National Golf Club near Washington, DC this evening with a unique guest list: 220 of the biggest investors in his $ Trump Meme coin, whose current or earlier stocks of the cryptocurrency brought you a seat at the table.

It is an event in which the cloudy world of cryptocurrencies collides with questions of the president's ethics.

Here are three important things that you know about the president's meme coin, dinner on Thursday and what all this could mean.

What is $ Trump?

The President $ Trump, who rose to a market capitalization of $ 27 billion of US dollars, started days before the inauguration, and estimated the personal share of the president with over 20 billion US dollars. The prize reached a highlight of more than 74 US dollars before he fell. Since it reached a low point in April, it has restored some of its losses and thrown back a large part of it last month when the $ Trump dinner was played.

In a Bitcoin World Editorial about the Meme Coin dinner, the publication states that the time of the latest spike indicates that “access to a top-class political figure and event as a powerful catalyst”.

Meme coins are cryptocurrencies inspired by internet memes or viral trends -or in this case a US president. They are usually created for entertainment or speculative purposes and are mainly driven by hype. As speculation, they tend to enrich early investors who can cancel their coins before their value.

Like Bitcoin, the blockchain technology, which are sometimes called meme tokens, use memes, but usually there is no clear application and the underlying value.

“Meme coins are not investments. I would not even speculatively describe them. They are more risky than the dog trail,” said Michael Lee, the founder of Michael Lee Strategy, a company for wealth planning and investment management.

Lee describes itself as “a fully outstanding Trump supporter” and calls the original cryptocurrency bitcoin “Digital Gold”. But as an investor, he says he would not touch $ Trump.

“This is not even the risk at the casino level,” he said. “At least there are opportunities in a casino.”

CIC Digital LLC, a subsidiary of the Trump organization and Fight Fight Fight LLC, has about 80% of the total offer of one billion $ Trump token, according to Gettrumpmemes.com.

Who visits the $ Trump evening dinner?

Of the 220 investors who are present, all of them were only identified except for a few by their online handles “Crypto Wallet”.

“There was a lot of speculation about who she could hold and who may not” ” Political Reporter Declan Harty recently said NPR. “But of those people who talk about their plans to participate in the dinner, they are mainly cryptocurrency believers and hope to really bring an audience with the president.”

Like the crypto investor Justin Sun, born in China, the founder of the blockchain-based operating platform Tron. Sun announced on X that he is the top owner of $ Trump and will therefore be on the list for dinner and the private tour of the White House.

“It is an honor to support @potus and gratefully for the invitation from @Gettrumpmemes to take part in President Trump's gala evening dinner!” he wrote.

In 2023, SUN was charged by the Securities and Exchange Commission because of the non -registered sale of his cryptocurrencies in order to artificially inflate their trading volume and to hide payments to celebrities in order to promote them, according to the SEC. According to Reuters, the SEC case was still eliminated in February.

But Sun may be best known to the public for another purchase, which he made last year at a New York auction. The Tech -Mogul bought a banana of 6.2 million US dollars on a wall with adhesive tape -a conceptual work by the Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. Sun then ate the banana and bragged about it on social media.

After Sun, Memecore, a crypto network based in Singapore, occupies second place. As with Sun, Memecore made no secret of his search for the No. 1 slot and released at the beginning of this month on X that “we are not just number 1 in the $ Trump ranking -we are here to conquer the entire meme room.”

Wintermute, a crypto market for crypto market based in London, is in third place, according to Bitcoin World. NPR has contacted the company to confirm its participations, but did not receive an immediate answer.

What are the ethical effects?

Norm iron is a former ambassador who was ethics consultant Former President Barack Obama and now as an executive Chair Chairman of the Democracy defender.

Citing the emolutionary clause, Eisen describes the dinner as “the deepest ethics and constitutional mandate violations in the history of our presidency”.

“The existence of this digital currency is a naked attempt to take advantage of [Trump’s] Preliminary and current presidency, ”said Eisen.

“Foreigners and foreign governments will take advantage of this situation to bring in money – and expected things for it,” he predicted.

The creation of such a consumed Pro Quo could have a significant impact on national security. Such an influence that may lead to foreign policy decisions that other countries prefer to the United States may prohibit foreign companies on political campaigns or influence the decision -making of candidates in order to avoid foreign interference in US affairs.

In an e -mail declaration to NPR, Anna Kelly, deputy spokeswoman for the White House, said: “The president is not working on not protecting the American people for himself.”

“President Trump is only in the best interest of the American public, which is why, despite years of lying and false accusations against him and his business from the fake news media, they have re-elected to this office in this office,” she said.

An official of the White House said on the condition of anonymity: “The Meme coin has nothing to do with the White House.”

Lee, the investment manager, does not believe that the meme token or dinner have a particularly thorny ethical dilemma. “I don't know how to get Trump close by buying his meme coin,” he says. “If you are a person of funds, you can approach a politician, right?”

But some Republican legislators have also expressed concerns. Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis, a convincing Trump pendant, said that the situation is “a break”, while the Republican senator of Alaska, Senator Lisa Murkowski, said to NBC, said: “I don't think it would be reasonable for me to bring people to the capitol and take a tour.”

Iron believes that it would have been unimaginable in Obama's presidency for such an event.

“Conversely, he would have thrown us out of the oval office if one of us had suggested,” he said.

However, he believes that Trump's challenge for the emolutionary clause of the constitution is questioned in court. Otherwise Eisen says: “If this is not checked, it depends on a” for sale “sign on the White House.”
