The youth art show emphasizes tobacco prevention and advocacy – BG Independent News

From the Ministry of Health of Wood County

The Wood County Health Department and the Children's Resource Center are proud to announce a virtual youth art show in the original art of the local young people. The entire work of art was created as part of a mighty initiative for public health, which was financed by the Tabak prevention division and the end of the Ministry of Health in Ohio.

During the 2024-25 scholarship cycle, the Ministry of Health received financial resources for the implementation of a youth-oriented project that uses ART as a means of supporting changes in the guidelines. The partner agencies started a program that authorized young people to support themselves for a healthier future.

The participants made in educational meetings in which they learned about the risks of nicotine and tobacco consumption and were introduced to the power of social marketing and the advocacy. After these sessions, the youth used their knowledge and creativity to produce works of art, convey anti-tobacco messages and imagine a healthier community.

The virtual showcase offers the original pieces and collaborative T-shirt designs created by the students. The online event, which runs until May 31, is a celebration of youth votes, resilience and the power of creative expression in the design of the results of public health.
