NGA organizes webinar with First Lady Jennie Gordon and shows strategic partnerships.

On May 16, the NGA Health Equity Learning Network endured a webinar that focuses on how states and areas can commit nutritional uncertainty through nutritional programs. The webinar contained comments from Wyoming First Lady Jennie Gordon, who emphasized the work of the Wyoming Higher Initiative. Ms. Gordon started the initiative in 2019 with the mission to end child hunger in Wyoming. The initiative works to prevent food uncertainty by increasing awareness and support for the work of local anti-hunger organizations and the connection of like-minded organizations and financing of local solutions.

Ms. Gordon emphasized examples of partnerships that have maintained their initiative with numerous charitable, business and state bodies in order to promote the goals of the Wyoming hunger initiative, in particular the goal of achieving more residents of Wyoming who want to experience with food uncertainty or who want to help combat food uncertainty. Ms. Gordon found that her initiative has successfully worked with many organizations, including the cattle votranching industry of the state and the Wyoming Stock Growers Association. These organizations are working on providing healthy protein sources, while other partners help to deliver fresh products, to distribute donations to food banks and to raise awareness of food uncertainty. Ms. Gordon emphasized that the work of her initiative is made possible because she is based on the expertise and experience of partner organizations throughout Wyoming.

The nation's first spouses often create initiatives that lead to the residents of their states and areas, and the first spouses can choose to work closely with non -profit organizations to form strategic partnerships that help promote the work of their initiatives. Through the partnership with established non -profit organizations, the first spouses can rely on the specialist knowledge and networks of the organizations to promote the goals of their initiatives.

At the NGA Winter Meeting 2025, Ohio First Lady Fran Dewine and Oklahoma First Lady Sarah Stitt led a session to present paths how the first spouses can work with non -profit organizations to improve the goals of their initiatives. They emphasized that the partnership with non -profit organizations could enable one of the most effective opportunities for increasing a cause, and enables the first spouses to use contacts, resources, sensitization campaigns and the research of organizations.

In Ohio, Ms. Dewine worked closely with the Dolly Parton imagination and successfully teamed up with the organization to expand the program that offers children free of charge from birth to the age of 5. Ms. Stitt has teamed up extensively with Casey Family Programs to promote their efforts to support themselves for those suffering from mental illnesses and negative childhood experiences.

At the NGA winter meeting 2025, Maryland First Lady Dawn Moore also presented the focus of her initiatives on the mental health of her children, the military families and the arts. Ms. Moore emphasized the AD Council as an example of an organization first spouse, with whom the spouses of the first spouses can work to raise awareness of important causes, and emphasized the value of the partnership with respected organizations that have infrastructure and resources to help the first spouse if they are more Americans if they are caused by or an advocacy insert.

Many of the nation's first spouses have developed successful partnerships with organizations to promote sensible causes in their home states and territories. For example, when fatal tornados met Western Kentucky before Christmas, Kentucky First Lady Britainy Besear organized a toy ride for the children who had just lost everything. She did the same to help children in the east of Kentucky after the devastating floods in the summer of 2022. The campaigns were based on a partnership with individuals, companies and non -profit organizations and led to a donation of more than 100,000 toys and $ 200,000 in gift card donations.

In New Jersey, First Lady presented the strategic plan for the maternal and maternal and rags as part of the NJ NJ initiative that she started in 2019 to reduce the epidemic of the mother's mortality in New Jersey. The strategic plan was the highlight of more than a year of meetings that were carried out with hundreds of critical stakeholders, including national public health, such as the non -profit March of Dimes, state departments and agencies in New Jersey, authorities, health systems, doctors, dooulas, community organizations as well as mothers and families.
