Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that his country's shooting in Washington, DC, is a “terrible” act of anti -Semitic violence.

“Yaron and Sarah weren't the victims of a random crime,” said Netanyahu. “The terrorist who shot her cruelly has this for one reason and for one reason alone – he wanted to kill Jews.”

In a video published by his office on Thursday in English, he said that the two employees were planning to get engaged to Jerusalem next week during a trip.

Netanyahu said that the suspect had called “Free Palestine” when he was taken away and pulled a direct border between the shootings and the attack on October 7, 2023. “This is exactly the same vocals we heard on October 7th.”

Netanyahu concluded the video with the statement: “I would particularly like to thank President Trump and the American people for their direct stand with Israel and the Jewish people.”
