Monroe County Probationary Deputy arrested, released according to criminal charges

The deputy deputy of Monroe County, Noel Hernandez Jr., was arrested and fired on Wednesday after alleged charges for neglect and battery.

The child was treated with several injuries in various healing stages on Monday in the IU Health Bloomington Hospital when the Sheriff office of the Monroe County received a report, as can be seen from a press release sent on Wednesday.

The Sheriff, Sheriff Rben Marté, contacted the Indiana State Police to carry out an independent examination after the report. He immediately suspended the Hernandez Jr.

A judicial officer of Monroe County's Court of Justice issued an arrest warrant against Hernandez Jr.'s arrest after he had found a probable reason for violations of the codes for Indiana. The fees include a crime of level 1 – the neglect of dependency that leads to catastrophic injuries – and three crimes of level 3.

Hernandez Jr. was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and brought to Morgan County prison. The IDS confirmed on Thursday morning in a call that Hernandez was still being held in prison.

Indiana State Police Public Information Officer SGT. Kevin Getz told the IDS that the examination had not yet been completed. The thoughts of the ISP are in the child and hope that the child will be recovered from the injuries suffered, he said.

Jeff Brown, the deputy deputy of Monroe County, said that the Sheriff's office was fully together with the examination.
