Evan Mobley and Dyson Daniels Top 2 voice weights in the all-defensive first team of NBA

The reigning 2024-25 NBA defensive player of the year, Evan Mobley, added only one further price for his trophy case.

On Thursday afternoon, the Big Man in Cleveland Cavaliers was appointed the all-defensive first team in the league.

Mobley joined the Atlanta Hawks Guard Dyson Daniels, Oklahoma City Thunder Wing Luguentz there, Golden State Warriors Big Draymond Green and Houston Rockets Wing Amen Thompson in the first team.

Mobley led to the total vacancies and received 99 votes from the first team of 100 authors and transmitters who had submitted ballot papers. Mobley was the key member of the eighth defense of the Cavaliers. He ended the regular season 13. In defensive rebounds per game (7.0) and sixth place in blocks per game (1.6). But what Mabley really distinguishes from most of his colleagues, said the coaches of the league, is his rare ability to change the opponents as a change of 7 and to defend them well.

The 23-year-old Mobley previously made the all-defensive first team in the 2022-23 season.

In order to be considered for an all-defensive team, players must have played in at least 65 games of the regular season (and fulfilled a minute threshold in these games) or in at least 62 games of the regular season before they suffered an injury at the end of the season (and played in at least 85 percent of their team before the injury). The latest collective agreement between the NBA and the player of the Union of the Player union provides that the games of the games, which also applies to the MVP, all-NBA, the most improved players and the defensive players of the year.

The Playing-Time Requirement Eliminated From Consideration A Large Number of Defensive Standouts, Including Alex Carus and Chet Holmgren of the Thunder, Anthony of the Dallas Mavericks, Dorian Finney-Smith of the Los Angeles Lakers, Aaron Gordon of the Nuggets, Jrue Holiday of the Boston Celtics, Jonathan Isaac and Jalen Suggs of the Orlando Magic, Herb Jones from the New Orleans Pelicans, Ausar Thompson from the Detroit Pistons and Victor Wembanyama from the San Antonio Spurs.

The 2024-25 season is also the second season in which the “positionless” league has used votes for its all-defensive and all-NBA teams. In previous years, the voters selected two guards, two strikers and one center for each of the two all-defensive teams and each of the three all NBA teams. The voters are now instructed to select the most deserved players regardless of their positions.

This was Daniels' Breakout season. He won the most improved player price and became a second place at Mobley in the coordination of the defensive player of the year.

The 22-year-old Daniels led the NBA in steals with an average of 3.01 per game. For his efforts, Daniels, who comes from Australia, received a clever nickname “The Great Barrier Dieb”.

The 26-year-old there and 22-year-old Amen Thompson compete Daniels as the first all-defensive first team winner.

There was the best Lockdown defender in a Thunder team that led the league in the defensive evaluation with a large lead and enabled 106.6 points per 100 possessions. The next best team, the magic, allowed 109.1 points per 100 possessions.

Thompsons Rockets ended the regular season in defensive evaluation and allowed 110.3 points per 100 possessions.

Green, 35, had been included in the all-defensive first team four times before this season. He is widely recognized as the most important defender of the Warriors, who predicted a few steps before the time for his communication on the pitch with teammates and his ability to take the tendencies of the opponents.

La Clippers Big Ivica Zubac, Memphis Grizzlies Big Jaren Jackson Jr., Thunder Wing Jalen Williams, the striker of Portland Trail Blazers, Toumani Camara and Minnesota Timberwolves Big Rudy, were named in the all-defensive team.

What is the biggest surprise?

Last year, four of the five all-defensive first team places went to Bigs: Bam Adebayo, Davis, Gobert and Wembanyama.

This year the first team leans more to Perimeter players, with Daniels, there and Thompson received recognition. This is not exactly a “surprise”, since Wembanyama and Davis were not considered because they did not reach the 65-game threshold. But it is still remarkable.

Who were the biggest snubs?

Two players immediately come to mind: Adebayo and the Derrick White from Boston Celtics.

Adebayo, which is sent in smalls, was an all-defensive selection of the second or first team in five consecutive seasons until this season. His Miami Heat became the ninth defensive evaluation during the regular season, and its intensity and consistency were a main reason for the defense strength of the heat.

White was included in the all-defensive second team in 2022-23 and 2023-24, and he seemed to be a strong candidate again, especially when you consider how his Celtics rated the fourth league on the defensive. With a holiday, his partner in Boston's start-back court without meeting the 65-game threshold, it would not have been a surprise if the voters Boston rewarded for his strong defense by concentrating on white.

Two more had strong cases for the recording: the New York Knicks 'OG Anunoby and the Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels.

This season Anunoby received the eleven highest point of voting with two voices of the first team and 45 votes in the second team for 49 total points. He finished 16 points behind Gobert for the last place in the second team.

McDaniels is generally considered one of the better defenders of the league of the league last season last season a place in the second season, but this season, in an overcrowded field of outstanding perimeter defenders, expired well this season.
