The 9-year-old girl who was killed while trying to get younger siblings to safety, in the middle of shots

According to the authorities in Louisiana, a 9-year-old girl was shot, while she brought her younger siblings to safety when on May 12th near her house broke out near her house.

Lee'lani Brooks, 9, played in front of her house in New Orleans shortly before 2 p.m. when men began to shoot near each other, Nola, WWL-TV and Fox 8 reported to the police.

Lee'lani and her mother ran into her house, but a stray ball traveled through a window and hit Lee'lani in the head when she ran to bring her younger siblings to safety, the local outlets reported among cited authorities.

She was then taken to a nearby hospital, where she was laid on life support and explained Hirntoll, Nola reported. On May 16, her family made the decision to distract her life support, and she died soon after.

The New Orleans police arrested the 19-year-old Evan Rogers, who was exposed to a number of second-degree murder tests from May 13th and illegal use of weapons, the police department of New Orleans announced in a statement at that time.

It took a four-hour argument for US marshals to arrest Rogers, while he allegedly hidden in a hotel, the police from New Orleans said in the explanation. The police also arrested a second person, but did not publish the name of this person or what charges they are exposed.

The family members of Lee'lanis have set up a gofundme to cover their funeral costs.

“My baby Lee'lani was a sweet, lively and funny 9-year-old child who loved and loved around her around her,” wrote Latisha Johnson in the post. “She was a leader and made sure that all of her younger family members were protected. Her smile is unforgettable and her personality was contagious.”

On May 20, Lee'lanis family held a balloon publication for the 9-year-old. Johnson was destroyed by the death of her daughter and said Fox 8 that her family was still working on her grief.

“I just want everyone to remember my baby what she was,” said Johnson, adding that Lee'lani loved doing her make -up, dancing, dancing, and admiring by her family members and friends.

“This is what we want to remember the world, as a hero, someone who was so selfless at the age of 9,” said Mike Willis, a community activist, to The Outlet.
