Furious Macron disguised ministers after a botched leak of the Muslim Brotherhood report – Politico

The report on the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood was expected to be published on Wednesday, but his publication was delayed by Macron's office after the document was passed on to conservative media. In an early version of the report seen by Politico, the Muslim Brotherhood had made great efforts to drive its fundamentalist agenda throughout France and Europe.

Many in the French government has attributed the Leck Retailleau, a hard conservative whose popularity has gone up since joining Macron's minority government in September. Retailleau achieved a landslide on Sunday to become the next leader of the Les Républicains, the historically dominant French Center Rights Party, which was banned into French politics after Macron's 2017 elections. Early surveys show that in the 2027 presidential elections he could be a serious candidate if he run.

Retailleau had discussed the report in several interviews with French media in the past few days and accused the Muslim Brotherhood, “tried to tend to French society in the Sharia Act.”

An adjutant of the President tried to downplay the role of the Ministry of the Interior on Tuesday, and insisted that all official decisions would be made at a defense cabinet sessions that Macron was presented.

The government official, who told politico about the scene, said Macron had to have a “mood swing” at this meeting.

“I am not sure if he understood … that it is the government who rules” as the president, said the official.
