Man, who was killed in Marlborough Fatal House Fire, identified

The man who was killed at the beginning of this month when his house in Marlborough caught fire in the middle of the night was identified as 83-year-old Robert Hranek.

On May 12, the police and the fire department of Marlborough responded to 11 Hanlon Drive at around 4:35 a.m. after a passerby reported on the fire, the firefighter's office previously said. At the scene of the crime, they found the single -family house completely in flames and fire, which ventilated through the roof, but did not hear to smoke that they sound.

Firefighters soon learned that Hranek – the sole resident of the house – should still be in the house, said the firefighter's office. They no longer found him in the house and carried him out, but he died later in a hospital in the morning.

The firefighters from Marlborough and Southborough took about 30 minutes to control the fire, said the firefighter's office. The house suffered a “catastrophic” damage, but in addition to Hranek's death, no other injuries were reported.

Fire researchers still determine what the fire caused, but all the factors that are still considered are random, the firefighter's office said on Thursday. No work alarms were discovered from the ruins.
