Disappeased inmates that stroll down the Baronne Street to Jailbreak

New Orleans (Wvue) – Newly published video shows three escaped inmates that walk along the Baronne Street early Friday morning, shortly after their outbreak from the Orleans Justice Center.

“These people are caught,” said NOPD superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick. “This is a matter of course.”

On Thursday afternoon, Kirkpatrick said that the investigators now believe that two of the occupants could still have left the state. She did not identify which men could be outside the state, but said that law enforcement processes up to 80 Crimestopper's tips a day.

“Obviously we still get implementable reports, and if I say to be implementable … is in the report there is enough meat that we either receive or get an arrest warrant to check the situation to see whether there is a presence of legitimacy … from someone who is there,” she said.

Nevertheless, many leads do not lead anywhere.

“There will be many times in which we track and did not lead to an arrest,” said Kirkpatrick.

Darlene Cusanza, CEO of Crimestopper, said that some tips seem to be deliberately misleading.

“This is not a game. So if you send information to irritate law enforcement, that's serious,” said Cusanza.

However, most tips help the police to check or remove leads.

“Everything you can gather as part of this puzzle helps the law enforcement authorities to make this arrest,” she said.

Cusanza added that a tipper had already received 20,000 US dollars from three different agencies.
