Student who was killed in November was honored at the Rickard's high degree

TALLAHASSE, Florida (WCTV) – Rickards High honored a beloved drum that was killed on Wednesday evening during his last year at the school's graduation ceremony.

Gavin Witmer's father, Mark Witmer, went over the stage, shook his hands and hugged the superintendent Rocky Hanna.

The school presented Mark with Gavins diploma and a framed drum Major uniform.

Remember Gavin and Angelique Witmer

Last November, Gavin Witmer and his mother Angelique were killed in an accident on the Veteran Day.

They drove into the city center so that Witmer could lead the Rickards band in the parade.

The Tallahasee police quoted the driver who scored the Witmers van. Court files show that the driver accelerated and the lanes changed, and the street was wet.

The investigators say that the public prosecutor has not found enough evidence to submit criminal charges.
