Woman killed when the tree fell on her car, remembered as a loving grandmother, entrepreneur

Wynnewood, Pa. (WPVI) – People who knew and loved the 59-year-old woman when a tree crushed her car that she was an energy hall, always smiled, always danced and the glue who held her family together.

The family of Renee Williams said that she was concerned when the massive tree fell on her on Sunday afternoon in the Lancaster Avenue in Wynnnewood.

“I think we are all still shocked. It's like a huge loss for our family,” said Williams' niece Chantal Jones. “She was a loving daughter, a loving mother, a loving grandmother, a sister. She loved it really, very hard.”

Jones and other family members say that they don't understand how the tree managed to fall it at the moment as Williams drove until Sunday afternoon.

“That was just right away,” said Jones. “We all still ask God: 'Why? Why this person?'”

Jones tells Action News that widespread the reach of her aunt in the community.

She worked as a sterile processing technician at Lankenau Hospital for 19 years. She also worked in the children's hospital in Philadelphia.

She was also an entrepreneur and travel agency.

“Aunt Renee was an energy hall. She just glowed up a room. Her smile was so contagious. Always planning to plan all other months, it was an event. It was a cookout in the house, a crab festival,” said Jones.

Her tragic and unexpected death is a damn accident that you will never understand, but you say that one gives you peace.

“She lived a full life. She lived her life to the full. She traveled. She did everything she wanted. That is a kind of what keeps us alive,” said Jones.

A funeral for Williams is for the next Tuesday.

The driver of another car, which was hit by the tree, Sharon Kozden, was injured in the crash.

The Lower Merion police say that they are still investigating what the tree fell and who is responsible for maintenance and maintenance.
