Tom Trbojevic's “Really bad” new injury arrives in the middle of the theory about the state of origin, Snub

Manly trainer Anthony Seibold has unveiled Tom Trbojevic has been hindered by a “really bad” cork to his quad in the past few weeks, which explains why he does not look 100 percent fit. NSW trainer Laurie Daley overlooked Trbojevic When he named his team for State of Origin 1 on Sunday evening and said it was simply a case that the superstar's own defender was not fit enough.

Many felt that Trbojevic would find a place in the Blues backline somewhere, but Daley went with Dylan Edwards, Brian To'o, Stephen Crichton, Latrell Mitchell and Zac Lomax instead. Trbojevic has no longer played the game of origin since 2023, and even then he tore his pec and the blues had to use Damien Cook in the centers.

Daley thought it was too much a risk of wearing a underdone Trbojevic in its 17 for origin 1, considering that there was no guarantee that he would take 80 minutes. The male full-back has copied well in the past few weeks and has already missed this year because of the thigh and knee injuries.

He missed the third round because of the problem of the knee tendon and then and then Cycled in round 4 with an MCL exposure. After three weeks he returned to the Panthers in round 8, but did not take his best.

On Thursday, Sea Eagles coach Seibold Daley's proposal declined that Trbojevic was not fully fit. However, he revealed that in the game of the 8th round he suffered a painful Quad Cork that influenced him.

“Obviously, Turbo had the MCL injury at the beginning of the year, and then his first game against Penrith had a really bad cork in his quad a few weeks ago,” said Seibold. “This hindered him through our bye week and against the sharks (in round 10).

“I had the feeling that he moved much better against the cowboys, especially in defense at the weekend. Some of the things he did were excellent. He looks fantastic this week … We expect Turbo to be best on Friday.”

Seibold said that Trbojevic was still good enough for Origin Footy, but admitted that it is a silver strip that he receives for Manly this weekend. “Everyone knows that Turbo is one of the elite players in the game, and every time he represents his state or country, he was a fantastic actor,” said Seibold.

“It is not for me to burden the selection, but in our view it is great to have Turbo as a skipper on Friday evening. I don't think the door of the origin is ever closed for Turbo. He belongs in this arena, I think everyone knows that. If there is an opportunity that I know that Turbo takes it with both hands.”

At the beginning of this week, Manly teammate Reuben Garrick predicted that Turbo would make a big statement against Parramatta after being cut to choose from NSW. “Tom is a very competitive person and I am sure that it only brings fuel into the fire,” said Garrick.

“Tom would be in my (NSW) side, but I am not the one who chooses it. Press his fingers crossed, he puts some good games together and he is back in this arena. It is Tom Trbojevic at the end of the day. He is a weapon.”
