Kedah School Scheste Scandsmal: Director, Vice Preparation, The Teacher gets Sack in the middle of the police investigation

Alor Setar, May 1st – The director of Sekolah Menengah Keat Hwa (Perseendirian) has resigned after a scandal for sexual harassment with a male teacher.

The school's vice principle has also temporarily resigned, while the investigation continues, News Portal Malaysikini reported today.

The school authority said late last night that Chang Siw Hong as headmaster had resigned for health reasons, while the deputy Khor Chee Beng temporarily resigned so that the examination can be continued smoothly.

The board has now formed a special task force to monitor school operations during this period and will submit a formal report to the United School Committees' Association of Kedah.

The school authority plans to form an independent examination team in order to examine possible administrative misconduct.

“This team should consist of members of the association or individuals with the credibility of the public. The members of the school board and the parent-teacher association members are not involved,” the board was quoted in a statement last night.

The board has also canceled a planned school officer from Fundraising -Basar in order to fully concentrate on reforms and the security of the students.

The board regretted regret about the incident and said that he trusted that the law would ensure that justice would be delivered.

Malaysikini So far, seven formal complaints have also been submitted to the police about the teacher, including six by former students.

Siti Noor Salawati, chief of police at Kota Setar, said two examination papers were completed and sent to the public prosecutor.

The teacher employed at the school since 2016 was arrested on April 17 and later suspended by the school before he was terminated.
