Husband, wife among the EF4 tornado killed in devastating. “They went together”

Laurel County, Ky. (Wkyt/Gray News) – A husband and a wife are among the 19 victims who died in an EF4 tornado in Kentucky last Friday.

Richard and Wanda Mcfall lived in the municipality of Sunshine Hills and died when the Tornado tore through their house on May 16.

Her son Stephen England said it was something that no child could ever be prepared for if I lose both parents.

“The beauty and the tragedy are that they have gone together,” said England. “You weren't alone, and if something good could go out of this tragedy, it is.”

England describes his parents as amazing people who have worked with the non -profit organization of disabled American Veterans (DAV).

“They were the epitome of the kind of people who would give them their shirt off their backs,” said England. “They were part of the DAV and could not only help disabled veterans, but also everyone who was in need.”

England said something else that he and his siblings will appreciate for their mother and father forever that their love for each other remained strong to the end.

“The example of what it is to love someone unconditionally and to go through the result everyday life together. To know that this example is not only determined for their grown children, this is probably the best legacy that I could ever ask for,” said England.

He asks everyone to never take his parents for granted.

“There is something about a mother and a hug of a father that when it is gone … Say your family every day that you love you. Because you don't know if there will be another day that you will be able to do so,” he said.

The family has a gofundme assignment to help with these tragedies with the expenses.

“If you look at photos of the subdivision in which you lived, you can't even find more as debris in which your house once stood. It is difficult to believe that the devastation has happened,” it says on the page.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that the Tornado was a strong EF-4 and destroyed several communities and killed 19 people.

According to officials, the Tornado reached a top winch of 170 miles per hour. At its widest point it was almost a mile wide and stayed about 56 miles on the floor.

The NWS says that the damage path of the EF 4 tornado Russell, Pulaski and Laurel, starting in Somerset and ended in London.

It was only the sixth EF4 or EF5 tornado in Kentucky in the past 50 years.
