iOS 19 could introduce a more intuitive and stylish camera app

iOS 19 is on the road and there are some surprises. One of them could look pretty familiar!

Updated on May 23 with fresh leaks

Apple keeps its product development under closure and iOS leaks are difficult to get. The software teams are much smaller than the large supply chain that builds the iPhones, which makes leaks even less frequently. While the hardware innovation slows down a bit, the new iPhones still get fixed camera improvements. But there is an interesting rumor about iOS 19 that we haven't heard for over a decade.

Leaker John Prosser recently posted a video that shows what the new camera app could look like. The big change? Translating menus for the camera controls. The design of these menus? It feels strangely familiar!

iOS 19 features

Apple started the development of iOS 19 in June 2024. At that time it was too early to know what functions would make the cut.

Fast lead to this day, while iOS 18 brought many upgrades, it is Apple Intelligence that steals into the spotlight. What can we expect from the next version?

1. AI battery management

I've been an Android type for years, but in 2024 I gave iOS a shot and the iPhone 15 Pro benefited. It was great. The camera? Wild good. The software? Super smooth. I enjoy the switch more than expected. Nevertheless, I still can't find out how battery health stays in chess.

Everyone continues to add advice. Lower screen brightness, do not let the battery immerse in less than 20%and avoid loading over 80%. I tried everything. Nothing seems to make a difference.

The administration of the battery life feels like a universal headache for iPhone users. But maybe that will change. IOS 19 will introduce an intelligent battery function that learns your usage patterns and automatically optimizes performance, says Gurman.

An Apple Intelligence function that intervenes from apple devices from apple devices on battery analyzes. The aim is to recognize behavior trends and reduce electricity consumption by restricting apps or background processes if this makes sense. Theoretically sounds solid. The turn? Rumors claim that Apple could open its local AI models for developers of third-party providers. So the big question is: you will see my battery consumption data?

It is also worth noting that iPhones will be displayed directly on the lock screen shortly. Galaxy telephones already show the battery content and the time for the complete load, so that Apple catches up here.

2. LLM siri

As a long -time Samsung user, I always rely on Google Assistant. Now that I switched to Siri, let's just say … it was a small learning curve.

For the beginning, Siri often believes that I speak when I am not, and more than not, she just doesn't bring me. I think the experience of everyone varies with speech recognition. The most frustrating part, however, is that Siri still has to deal with the right hearing and understanding commands.

Sure, Siri can do basic tasks such as setting timers and answering uncomplicated questions. However, when it comes to more complex answers, Chatgpt does a much better job with clearer and better answers. The good news? Apple develops a conversational siri to compete with Openais Chatgpt and other language services.

The new Siri will use more advanced major language models (LLMS) to support smoother conversations.

“The next generation LLM planned for iOS 19 will be a new end-to-end system that offers more advanced, chat-like functions,” says Mark Gurman von Bloomberg.

Apple tested the new software on iPhones, iPads and Macs as a separate app, but the plan is to replace the current Siri interface with it. You want to introduce the update in 2025 as part of iOS 19 and MacOS 16.

In the meantime, Apple Apple Intelligence added 18.2 Chatgpt in iOS 18.2 and made Gemini available in the App Store. The new Siri aims to bring these functions internally and still focus on the privacy of users. However, Apple may continue to enable third-party AI systems that offer special skills or information.

3. Beyond Chatgpt

Apple takes care of most functions iPhone, iPad and Mac Intelligence with its own models. However, Chatgpt has already been brought to the mix. In the meantime, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, mentioned, he hopes to bring Gemini to iPhones.

Mr. Pichai and Tim Cook have had some discussions by 2024. Pichai wants to complete a deal by the middle of the year. When it happens, Apple will probably announce it alongside iOS 19, Ipados 19 and the next MacOS.

The largest offer to date between Apple and Google is located in Safari's standard search engine. Google has been in this place for years, and this agreement is now part of a cartel procedure in the USA where Pichai shared his thoughts.

Apple also speaks with confusion. The LLM-based search engine could become an integrated option for Siri and a new search provider in Safari, which gives users a further direction beyond chatt.

I like trying out different chatbots. Each one treats information and questions a little differently. After what I have seen, confusion with more useful answers becomes a point, while Gemini gives a broader perspective. In any case, it is great to have more than an option.

4. iPhone users could soon drop Siri for a new voice assistant

New voice assistants on iPhones will be about for a sensation for a sensation. In order to pursue the impending rules of the European Union, Apple updates its operating systems so that users can finally switch from Siri to third -party assistants, says Gurman.

My favorites are Gemini and Chatgpt. They do everything Siri does, but faster, better and they understand their voice more clearly. I never used a lot of Siri, but I rose to check the weather, take notes and sometimes answered texts. Lately it will no longer make calls. I ask you to call Edgar – something I've done for years – and nothing happens. Looks like I am one of the first to switch from Siri to another assistant.

5. Visionos camera app

The popular tasty John ProSser looked at the iOS 19 camera -app early, and he says that it feels much more smoothly overall. The settings remain hidden until you wipe through the viewfinder and focus on the camera at the center of the camera. But what really strikes? The new camera app design is not just a random update. It actually agrees with the Design Vibes from Visionos.

At the bottom the layout keeps things pretty easy. You can switch between a photo or a video. Tap the switch and you will unlock further options, e.g. B. the adaptation of the depth for portraits or the absorption of panorama images with spatial recording. You can also control photo styles, side conditions, exposure and a timer. On the video page you get a similar depth and spatial settings as well as slow motion, time-lapse, action mode and exposure adjustments rather everything.

At the top you can optimize settings such as resolution and image rate. And of course the usual feature of the photo gallery abbreviation remain on the lower left and the camera aligned at the front switches at the bottom right.

6. Other apps with Visionos Touch

It seems that Apple is planning major changes across the board. It is unlikely that you would make such a massive change to just one app without having anything more in stock. This could be a sign that a full iOS redesign comes.

However, Apple can keep most iOS the same – the layout, the same control center, the same general experience. Instead, they could bring inspired elements from Visionos into important apps such as camera, music, notes and wallet.

Apple has recently created a large visual update for its mobile operating system with iOS 7 when they exchanged the Skeuomorphic design for a cleaner, minimal, two -dimensional look.

7. Airpods Live translation

Apple could soon give Airpods a function with which real -time talks can be translated. When someone speaks Spanish, your iPhone jumps in, translates it and sends the English version directly to its ears through its AirPods. And when you speak, your iPhone turns back into Spanish so that the other person understands them.

Other earphones such as Pixel buds and Timeettle M3 are already offering a live translation. Both support 40 languages and the M3 even a bestseller on Amazon. Apple is a little late to the party here, but as someone who travels a lot, I hope that you increase the bar.

One thing that you should consider – most translation earphones do not shift between the languages in the middle of a conversation. Usually choose the languages before starting. This is okay for travel, but in classrooms or group discussions where people often change languages, it may be a bit chunky. If Apple doesn't find a way, still tap a bit to change the default settings. To see curiously how to deal with it.

iOS 19-supported devices

Apple is working hard to design its devices more durable than ever before. The company has shared a report from which it is shown how new manufacturing technology, software updates and repair services help to extend the lifespan of its products. In fact, devices from 2017 can still run the latest Apple operating systems.

As for the upcoming iOS 19, it is compatible with all compatible from iPhone 11 to iPhone 17 series. However, some of the more advanced AI functions are exclusively for the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. This mainly serves to overwhelm the servers.

Apple will give us a little insight into the iOS 19 at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2025. Then the developers will get them into their hands for testing and we will see a public beta rollout in summer.

Then, in September 2025, iOS 19 will officially fall alongside new iPhones.

At the moment iOS 18 is the main publication. It brought new adaptation options, more intelligent Siri upgrades and tools that were operated by generative AI. Since then, Apple has not slowed down – the version 18.5 on May 12 with more Polish and performance ban.

Conclusion

IOS 19 develops to a big step forward, especially with a reverseder siri and an elegant camera app. With the functions inspired by Visionos that get in the way of important apps, it is clear that Apple is aiming for a new, more intuitive experience. We will get the full shovel in 2025!
