Drummer and music agent among 6, which were killed in San Diego aircraft crash

There were two rock music veterans who were excited to fly together from New Jersey to San Diego.

One was Daniel Williams, a former drummer of the metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada. The other was Dave Shapiro, a music agent who worked with sum 41, Hanson, Jefferson Starship and other artists, and was also a pilot who headed his own aviation business.

In an Instagram story published on Wednesday evening, Mr. Williams shared a photo of her plane, a Cessna quote, on one asphalt and two more photos of himself on the co-pilot seat.

“We are Goooooo here,” he wrote.

But after crossing the country, the jet hit power lines and crashed into a residential area when he landed in San Diego in a thick fog early Thursday morning.

All six people on board were killed, eight people were injured and 10 houses were damaged, the authorities said. It was not clear whether Mr. Shapiro piloted the Cessna when it was crashed or whether Mr. Willians was a co-pilot.

The officials did not publish the names of the victims on Friday, but the 42-year-old Mr. Shapiro was among the companies killed, according to the company he co-founded. Mr. Williams, 39, was assumed that he belonged to those on board the aircraft.
