Rafael drives back to the third base? Alex Bregman's injury could create more Red Sox -Drama

The drama may not yet be in Boston.

On Friday, in the first game of a double header by Boston Red Sox against the Baltimore Orioles, the third Baseman Alex Bregman had to get out in the fifth inning with what the team called right quad -result.

He left the game after rounding off the first basis on a single.

After the game one 19-5 rule by the Red Sox-supplied Bregman an update about his injury. He said the injury was regarded every day and he hoped to avoid the injured list.

“I rounded the first base and dig like a second and I felt my quad,” said Bregman. “After I felt it, I only knew that I had to get out and had to see the coach.”

He added: “I have the feeling that we will know a lot more tomorrow after going to bed.”

The Red Sox must see how Bregman feels on Saturday before making decisions that he may be on the injured list. He will not be in the line -up for the second game of the Doublehead.

If Bregman is forced to go to the IL, the Red Sox will be baseman without your start. It could also be designated for an even stronger position drama in relation to its superstar, the Hitter Rafael Devers.

In spring training, the Red Sox asked the devers to deduct themselves from the third basis after the signing of Bregman. He was not interested in showing the latest Red Sox information.

“No,” said Devers in February. “I play third place.”

“My position is the third basis,” he added. “Whatever it is what you want to do is what you want to do. But my position is the third basis. It is my position. I will not only change. This is my reaction at the moment.”

The devers gave way and gave third place to the team's full -time hitter. But the drama didn't end there.

After the first Baseman Triston Casas had suffered a knee injury at the end of the season, devers seemed to be an option to take over on the first basis.

Again wrong.

“I don't think it is the best decision for me personally after you have asked me to play a different position,” said Devers. “I know that I am a ball player, but at the same time you cannot expect me to play every single position out there. In spring training you spoke to me and basically told me that I should put my glove away. I would not play a different position as DH. At the moment, I think it would be an appropriate decision to ask me to play a different position.”

It would be difficult to imagine that the Red Sox would go back to devers to switch to the third basis for a part -time appearance. However, you would also have to find a way to cover the third basis if Bregman is forced to miss the time.

At the moment, the Red Sox will hope that Bregman wakes up better on Saturday. If not, you could get talks for some more unpleasant conversations.
