Fairfax Police Release Body Cam Video of Police Insert in Greenbriar – NBC4 Washington

Fairfax County's police chief says that the Body-Cam video just published shows that the man who has died intends to kill an officer.

The exchange of shots took place during a traffic stop on April 23 near the city center of the Greenbriar in Fairfax. Two officers were also wounded in the shots.

The chief scream a young officer of saving his colleagues' life.

The video cam cam video shows that the problems have started from the moment when an official Jamal Wali overtook on the brakes due to an expired safety inspection sticker and wali slam. When the officer reaches the car, Wali tells him that he has a gun and wearing it in a holster.

The video shows that Wali is clearly excited and angry, writes and escaped, refusing to give his name and tell the civil servant that he has no driver's license or registration for leaders.

In the video, Wali complain about his treatment in this country. As a married father of four children, he came to the United States in 2014 after working as a translator for US forces in Afghanistan.

The officer tries repeatedly to calm him down.

Wali begins his GoPro camera. When he reaches towards his weapon, the officer demands backup. Wali makes a cryptic statement and says: “Today is the day, buddy.”

Only seconds after two other officers arrived and one positioned on the passenger side, Wali puts a round in his weapon. And when an officer grabs his arm, he fires the two officers on the driver's side. The same ball meets each of them in their arms.

Walis own GoPro shows that he tried to re -down and shoot the other officer. But officer Ian Lachapelle was able to fire and beat Wali first.

Chef Kevin Davis attributes Lachapelle to save his co -officers.

“We also recognize in this special scenario that we are very lucky that we had no two police berons,” said Davis. “His actions, his commitment to this fatal strength, has the two officers who were on the driver's driver on the driver's driver. There is no doubt about that.”

Davis also said that the officer, who made the traffic stop, did his best to decal, but Davis said that he believed that Walis “today's day” and his decision to turn on the camera were signs that he wanted to kill.

“These are all pointed out that he probably expected to kill a police officer, and in fact he tried to kill two uniformed police officers from Fairfax County,” said Davis.

As soon as the investigation is completed, the results are handed over to the lawyer of Commonwealth, Steve Descano, but Davis expects Descano to find that it is a fair shootout and that no criminal charges will arise.

Davis said Walis family saw the video.

Just a few days before the fatal shootout, Wali was stopped with a suspended license for driving and he was accused of arresting himself in 2018.
