The Salt Lake Bees put Chase Silseth on the 7-day injury list on Tuesday. The placement is not surprising, since Silseth has not taken up for the angel for the triple-A partner since May 3.

The type of injury was not made available by the angels, as Jeff Fletcher from the New California News Group confirmed.

The 25-year-old Silseth is on the 40-man service plan of the Angels, but it seems unlikely that he will soon take the hill in a large or small league game shortly in view of his IL placement.

In seven games before the injury, Silseth was 3-1 with an ERA of 4.45. Silseth had not missed a start this season after he had suffered an elbow injury in April 2024 and had undergone an operation at the end of the season in August.

Now Silseth's elbow is the main concern again. In his last start, May 3rd against the Albuquerque -Isotope, Silseth saw falling steep in the course of the game.

Silseth's Fastball registered 89.9 to 92.6 miles per hour per statcast in the third time after it was clocked for the second time with 90.1 to 94.3 miles per hour. For the first time through the Albuquerque order, Silseth's Fastball touched 92.0 to 95.0 miles per hour.

Although the speed can be expected for every pitcher in the course of the game, Silseth scored 91.9 to 93.8 miles per hour with his Fastball when he was against Oklahoma City in his previous start, April 26.

A speed drop is not necessarily a sign of an injury. But given Silseth's story, it is understandable why the angels could be careful.

In 2023, Silseth threw 52.1 innerings for the angels with an average of 3.96 earned run. He was in line to confiscate a point in the starting trotation in 2024 before injuries occurred.

Silseth started two starts, started the year with the angels and then landed on the IL with the right elbow inflammation. No band damage was found, but Silseth was transferred to the 60-day il.

Silseth began a rehab task in May 2024, was restored by the IL on June 25th and selected for Triple-A Salt Lake. Then he made four more Triple-A appearances between the end of June and the end of July.

In August 2023, Silseth was hit in the head by a teammate about the Infield.

The latest injury is unfortunate timing for both the pitcher and the team. Angelsliever teamed up for a 6.48 ERA with the 30th in MLB on Friday.
