Chicago (WLS) – A man was shot in a company on the south side of the city on Friday.

The shootout occurred around 4:24 p.m. in the 7000 block of the South women Avenue in West Englewood, the Chicago police said.

The victim, a 42-year-old man, was in a shop at the location when he was in a discussion with two criminals, the police said.

One of the criminals, a 38-year-old man, pulled out a gun and shot the victim into the upper body and head several times, said CPD. The man was declared dead at the crime scene. His identity was not yet known.

The alleged shooter was also shot in his hand, the police said. He was taken to a hospital in good condition where he stays in custody.

The second perpetrator fled out of the scene on foot and is not in custody, the police said.

No further information was available because the police in Chicago continued to investigate.
