US music director Dave Shapiro killed in the aircraft crash

Dave Shapiro, a heavy metal music manager who was the US Talent representative for a number of Australian musicians, died of San Diego plane crash.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the 42-year-old was listed as the owner of the aircraft.

On his agency website he led Australian bands such as Parkway Drive, Amity Affliction and Northlane.

The Music Agency Sound Talent Group confirmed Shapiro as well as two employees and the former drummer of the metal band The Devil Wears Prada, died on Thursday morning.

“We are destroyed by the loss of our co -founder, colleagues and friends,” said the agency in an explanation.

Shapiro was in 2018 with Tim Borror and Matt Andersen with Tim Borror and Matt Andersen.

The agency's list focuses on alternative bands, but included pop acts such as Hanson and Vanessa Carlton.

The members of the Byron Bay Band Parkway Drive paid tribute to Shapiro and said they were “broken heart” about the loss of their “good friend” and the US booking agent.

“We send all our love and support to Dave's family, friends and the Sound Talent Group team in this extremely difficult time,” they wrote in an Instagram declaration.

“Our thoughts and condolences are also with the living Daniel Williams and the extended music community.”

The Australian colleagues from You, who also represented Shapiro, published a Triple -J contribution and wrote: “Thanks for everything, peace in peace.”

Shapiro flight school owned

Shapiro was recorded in Billboard 2012 under 30 lists in which rising stars were recognized in conversation.

According to Industry Veterans, Shapiro paved the way for the formation of other independent agencies and helped many alternative ribbons to find the audience in the mainstream.

He was also a flight lover who opened an office of his talent agency in a hangar in San Diego at a time.

Flying “helps me concentrate and helps me not to be distracted by all the nonsense of the world, and whatever is going on outside of the aircraft does not matter in these moments,” said Shapiro in a podcast interview from 2020.

Shapiro had a flight school called Velocity Aviation and a record label called Velocity Records.

Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley harmed Shapiro that he rebuilt in his career during a “low point”.

Before her last conversation, Shapiro flew in his new plane to see the introduction of SUM 41 to Canadian Music Hall of Fame in March.

He promised Whibley that he would come back.

“I and my wife, we'll fly to you,” remembered Whibley of Shapiro.

“We will pick you up and we will go somewhere somewhere somewhere.”

Fog a factor in crash

The investigator of the National Transportation Safety Board, Dan Baker, said the officials would work next year to determine what the Cessna 550 quote from Shapiro crashed.

Early investigations show that the run -up lights at the airport came out where the plane landed.

A weather warning system that should have warned of strong fog did not work either.
